As per ATCO’s award to build the 4500 room Cedar Valley Lodge (under our Bird-ATCO Joint Venture) to accommodate the workforce of the LNGC project near Kitimat, BC, we are seeking an approximately 18-month term Quality Control Coordinator to join our project team. The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and performing the onsite inspections during construction for the LNGC project.  Please note this position will work a 14 on – 7 off rotation and consist of 10 hour shifts per day.


Our project site is located near Kitimat Village in British Columbia. If candidate is not local, travel hubs are based out of Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna and Prince George. The LNGC project is anticipated to run from June 2019 to November 2020.


  • Execute inspections on a day to day basis, inspecting work on modular units and work carried out by sub-contractors on site.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with the project team, subcontractors, consultants and owner representatives.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature including testing protocols and procedures and general construction observations.
  • Familiarity with construction testing and inspection procedures and processes.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented to assist the project team in assuring that Project QC documentation are complete and procedures are followed to ensure issues are closed and project risk is mitigated.
  • Ability to read and understand construction blueprints / specifications and have the ability to identify errors and anomalies.
  • Attend regularly scheduled QA/QC meetings, review logs of Deficiencies, Punch List, etc., and provide documentation and meeting minutes.
  • Create, document and distribute all QA/QC checklists, inspections, completion lists, punch lists, and reports.
  • Participate in Trade pre-installation meetings to verify that each Trade understands the
  • Project’s QC requirements before beginning work on site.
  • Monitor construction activities and review materials and equipment delivered to the project for adherence to specifications.
  • Proficient in MS-based software including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Attend daily site coordination meetings with management/supervision & sub-contractors.
  • Maintain updated site drawing log and ensure the project is working to latest drawings.
  • Review and report status on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Review and update the Project Site Quality documents and maintain Quality Plans / ITP`s.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • 2-3 years of Quality Control experience working on construction sites, implementing quality deliverables for improvement and sustain quality awareness across the site.
  • Specialized education or training in Project Management, Business Management or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical, or carpenter trade would be an asset.
  • Modular experience is an asset.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Excellent organizational skills and record retention.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement inspection criteria’s and effectively communicate at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of how to implement CLPC on the NCR’s, CAR’s/PAR’s and FDR’s.
  • Experience with MS Office software would be an asset.
