What You Get to Do:

  • Custodian of the Natural Gas Division Project & Program Management Practice
    • Understand company process, procedure, policy, and reporting requirements as they relate to project management
    • Regularly review project processes, and contribute to the development, design, and establishment of process improvements
    • Create standardized tools and templates for the Natural Gas Division, where necessary
  • Project Controls Support for large projects and programs in the Natural Gas Division
    • Implement project controls tools and reporting, including, but not limited to, schedule, cost, scope controls
    • Providing framework for monthly project/program reporting
    • Construction reporting on Major Projects
  • Capital Execution Metrics
    • Providing input on defining metrics and key performance indicators
    • Creating framework for reliable and timely reporting of metrics
    • Creating dashboards and reports for company-wide distribution
  • Project Management Natural Gas Division Spokesperson
    • Educates and supports project team members in their implementation and application of developing standards, ensuring standards are adhered to by project team members
    • Work with Natural Gas leadership to ensure that development of tools and processes align with overall capital strategy
    • Collaborate with teams external to Natural Gas Division (other Business Units, Project Accounting, Capital Planning, Project Management Office, Global IT, etc) to ensure Natural Gas Division project management processes are continually being aligned across ATCO
  • Supervisory responsibilities as required
  • Undergraduate Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management, program management, or managing various project coordination activities/communications (relevant co-op/intern experience will be considered)
  • Possess a solid understanding of the project controls processes including scheduling, estimating, labor management, change orders, forecasting, construction management, and contract administration
  • Proficiency in learning, using, and implementing software
  • Designations/certificates/training in any of these areas would be an asset: engineering, accounting, project management, or any other business-related designation/certificate
  • A team player with the interpersonal skills to build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple groups in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collect, analyze, and present deliverables
  • Experience with oil & gas, pipeline, and petrochemical facility construction is preferred
  • Ability to meet tight, fluctuating deadlines, and manage competing priorities is critical
  • Knowledge of O365 and Oracle products would be an asset
