ATCO’s Veteran Talent Program

Veterans Belong Here

For decades, ATCO has been a proud supporter of the Veteran and Reservist community, providing military camps, defense support services, logistics and operational support, as well as innovative housing for Veterans struggling with reintegration into civilian life. ATCO feels a profound responsibility to support and serve those who have stood on guard for democracy and peace.

This commitment extends to our belief that Veterans and Reservists possess a range of valuable skills, perspectives, qualifications, and experience gained throughout their individual careers—all qualities we believe are a strong fit with the global ATCO team.

Teamwork & Mission Driven

As a Veteran-ready and military-friendly employer, we are committed to supporting military and first-responder Veterans and Reservists with the next stage in their careers.

Transitioning out of the military is a different experience for everyone. There are resources, such as Career Transition Services, offered by Veteran Affairs Canada, where you can find support with resume writing, interview preparation, and career counselling to assist you on your journey. Leveraging these resources will allow you to be fully prepared for a discussion with our Talent team.

ATCO: A Veteran Ready Employer

ATCO values the skills and experience that Veterans can bring to our workplace. We’re committed to attracting, hiring, welcoming, and retaining Veterans in our global communities where we have the privilege to operate. We encourage all Veterans and Allied Veterans to connect with our talent acquisition team to explore opportunities available at ATCO.

Since 2023, ATCO has been a
Certified Veteran Ready Employer from Challenge Factory—an organization committed to those workers who are not well served by traditional hiring methods, such as Legacy Career seekers, older workers, and military Veterans.

Proudly supporting Reservists as a military-friendly employer

ATCO has a longstanding history of working with military partners across Canada, the Far North and around the world, delivering support services to the Canadian Armed Forces, Department of National Defense and to NATO operations in Eastern Europe.

In 2020, ATCO joined the
With Glowing Hearts – Reservist Support Initiative through the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC), as a military-friendly employer.

Veterans supporting Veterans through community

At ATCO, we are committed creating an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome and valued. We recognize the invaluable skills and leadership Veterans bring to our global ATCO team and, as part of our commitment to our people, we established a dedicated Veteran Employee Resource Group (VERG) in 2023.

VERG gives Veterans a supportive environment to connect, share experiences and thrive in their professional journeys. Through conversation, education and community outreach, VERG plays a pivotal role in honouring Veterans’ contributions and fostering an environment where Veterans feel a sense of belonging and can see a path towards advancement.

Our commitment in action

At ATCO, we believe in putting our commitment to the communities we support into action. Serving and supporting those who stand on guard for democracy and peace is a foundational value within ATCO—a profound responsibility that we honour today and will continue to honour into the future.

Invictus Games

ATCO reaffirms our long-standing commitment to the military as the Presenting Partner of the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada. We are honoured to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of Team Canada for four consecutive Invictus Games from 2022 to 2027.

Homes For Heroes

With more than 5,000 Canadian Veterans experiencing homelessness across the country, there is an urgent and growing need to provide housing solutions for Veterans needing assistance with reintegration into civilian life. In direct response to this need, ATCO has partnered with the Homes For Heroes Foundation to provide tiny home housing communities within a robust support system for Veterans experiencing homelessness in the cities of Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
