#teamATCO Students

We love our students! We hire hundreds of students year-round, across our multiple business units.
Many of our students return for additional work terms and also join the ATCO team once they graduate.

One of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People

First published in 2002, Canada's Top Employers for Young People is an editorial competition organized by the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes employers that offer the nation's best workplaces and programs for young people just starting their careers. The employers on this list, like ATCO, are Canada's leaders in attracting and retaining younger employees to their organizations.

Indigenous Student Programs

Our Indigenous Summer Student Program is an important part of our commitment to Indigenous Peoples across Canada. In addition to our overall summer student program offerings, Indigenous students at ATCO are honored with a welcome ceremony led by an Elder from the community. We offer an individualized buddy program that allows Indigenous students to meet other Indigenous employees at ATCO and build relationships and their network. There are many community events throughout the summer that our Indigenous students are invited to participate and volunteer in.

Summer Student Program

Our Summer Student program offers post-secondary students a four-month work term during the summer months. During a summer work term with ATCO, you’ll have the chance to grow your network, participate in continuous learning opportunities, and join our annual Career Fair to learn more about the various career opportunities across the ATCO enterprise. We’re excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in Work Integrated Learning programs such as Wavemakers.

Internships and Co-op Placements

Not your average work term! A co-op placement or internship at ATCO will give you a chance to explore various career paths across all our business units, network with innovative industry leaders, and build connections with your student peers across the company. We’re committed to your growth and development!

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Rotational Program

ATCO offers a well-established Engineer-in-Training (EIT) program to engineers who have completed their undergraduate degree within the previous year. EIT rotations span across engineering specific departments such as: distribution, renewable energy, and asset management; as well as non-engineering departments such as: system operations, commissions, and facilities planning.
